About
Prof. (Dr.) Chitrarekha Kabre is a distinguished architect and academician specializing in sustainable and regenerative architecture. She currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi.
Dr. Kabre earned her Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2008, supported by the Australian Development Cooperation Scholarship. She holds a Master’s degree in Building Engineering & Management (Gold Medalist) from SPA New Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal.
With over three decades of academic and professional experience, Dr. Kabre has held prominent positions, including Dean and Chairperson at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal. She has also served as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at North Dakota State University, USA, during 2012–13.
Her research interests encompass sustainable building design, computer-aided architectural design, project management, and architectural technology. She has authored notable publications, such as “Sustainable Building Design” and “Synergistic Design of Sustainable Built Environments.
She has authored more than 50 research papers and notable books, such as “Sustainable Building Design” and “Synergistic Design of Sustainable Build Environment.

- WINSHADE – developed an integrated tool for design of fixed external shading devices based on generation and optimization paradigms of Computer Aided Design. Climate Analysis module delineates overheated period for a given place based on thermal comfort
- Sunpath diagrams: Stereographic projection of sun movement for any given place. Graphics in C and AutoCAD
- Sun movement and its impact on the built form, graphical analysis of shading patterns.
- Solar radiation computation based on ASHRAE model, standard Indian Atmosphere and correlation equations
- A Computer Aided Design model for design of climate responsive dwelling roofs based on generation and optimization paradigms; which is diametrically opposite to conventional simulation. Given the required inputs, this computer model automatically generates prescriptive quantitative information to design roof to achieve optimum thermal comfort in warm humid tropics.
- DELMAN – analyzes causes of delay in construction projects and assigns responsibility to the party causing the delay. The software is interfaced with commercial project management software with compatible data exchange.
- Design of Water Supply Pipes of Multi storey building in FORTRAN IV language using Hazen William’s formula for frictional losses.
- Discounted Cash Flow calculation in BASICA for financial management.
